Perl Script Checking / Debugging

What is the perl script checker for?

This feature is designed for checking perl scripts, that you will use for CGI scripts, for any syntax or logical errors that may exist. Your perl script must be free of these errors before you can use them properly on your site.

Where do I check my perl scripts?

You should be able to change your password, in your account's console utility. You should see a link for "Check a PERL cgi script for errors." Select this, to get to the form to check your perl scripts.

How do I check my scripts for errors??

You will see a form, like the following, in the "Check a PERL cgi script for errors" link, in your console:

/cgi-bin/

The script checker assumes that your perl script is already uploaded, and located in your /htdocs/cgi-bin directory. If it is located in another directory inside your cgi-bin directory, you MUST specify that directory in the form field. Once that is done, submit the script to be checked, by clicking the submit button below the form, and your script will be checked for errors.

Will the checker look for scripts in other directories?

No. The script checker will only look for scripts in the cgi-bin direcory. Your scripts must be there, for them to be checked for errors.

If you have problems with checking your perl scripts, please send email to help@megaton.net and be sure to include the following information:
