FTP, or file transfer protocol, is used to upload or download files from different locations. It is a program that allows you to move a  file from your computer to a particular server(uploading). Thus you can then setup a web page. It also allows you to move files from your web page to your computer (downloading). This allows you to thus download files to execute and run on your computer.

So How can I get FTP?

The easiest way to get a FTP service is by downloading a FTP client from a website. We recommend that you download FTPPro.

In addition to uploading and downloading this particular client allows you to perform the following actions:

• Make a Directory.
• Change a Directory.
• View Files in a Directory.
• Delete Files in a Directory.
• Delete Directories.

All these operations can be performed on either end (On your computer or on your webpage to which you have connected using the FTP Client).
